Here’s how to check, and update your Kindle if needed:
1. Go to Amazon.com and log in with your username and password.
2. Click on the “Your Account” link at the top right side of any page on Amazon’s site (see above).
3. Under the Settings tab, find the “Manage Your Kindle” option and click on it, then scroll down until you see Your Kindle Account section (see below).
4. There you’ll be able to see what version is installed on your device as well as its serial key which can be used for identifying each Kindle unit uniquely…giving us a way to know if it has been hacked or not later on. If there is an UPDATE option next to your Kindle’s serial number then you can update it.
5. If that section does not list an UPDATE option then the device has not been hacked by JailbreakMe, or any other jailbreaking tools for that matter.
