Khazanah Scholarship 2021 ( Overview and Eligibility)

Malaysians who are bright and high achievers can apply for the Khazanah Global Scholarship, a prestigious award that provides opportunities for them to pursue A-Level studies at Kolej Yayasan UEM (in preparation for further undergraduate studies at our approved universities abroad) and Postgraduate studies at selected leading universities throughout the world. Participants in the Khazanah Global Scholarship programme are also given the opportunity to participate in leadership development programmes and work placements with top organisations in Malaysia.

Eligibility

Possess good leadership abilities and take an active role in extracurricular, social, and/or voluntary activities to further your education. Applicants must have a track record of persistent and exceptional academic accomplishment in the following areas:

Studies on the Foundations

  • The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 8As (combination of an and A+) in the most recent SPM examination or a minimum of 8As in the most recent IGCSE examination.
  • The following core subjects (Bahasa Melayu, English, History, and Mathematics) were graded a or A+: (only for SPM).
  • At the time of enrollment in the foundation studies, you must be under the age of eighteen.
  • In order to prepare for further undergraduate studies at our recognised universities abroad, successful applicants will be assigned to Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM) to study the A-Level Programme.

Master’s Degree

  • Obtained a least of Second Class Upper Division (University of the United Kingdom and Australia) or, in the case of a point system, a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.50 for a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Obtaining admission to or already pursuing studies at one of Yayasan Khazanah’s accredited universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, or Australia is a requirement (Conditional offer can be considered).
  • At the time of enrollment in the Master’s programme, you must be under the age of 40 to be eligible.
  • It is necessary to include a study outline/thesis summary (Research or mixed mode)

PhD

  • Accomplished the Master’s Degree with distinction or an ‘A’ grade average or equivalent (if the degree is graded on a point system).
  • Obtaining admission to or already pursuing studies at one of Yayasan Khazanah’s accredited universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, or Australia is a requirement (Conditional offer can be considered).
  • The applicant’s age cannot be more than 40 years old at the time of enrollment in the Doctorate programme.
  • A research plan or thesis summary on the topic they intend to explore as part of the Doctorate programme is required.
  • Currently employed by Khazanah’s bond-serving institutions, which include, but are not limited to, Khazanah-Linked Company (KLC), Government-Linked Company (GLC), public universities, government bodies, and other government-related organisations. Upon completion of their education, the applicants are required to return to their present employers in order to fulfil their obligation.
